Belmond Hotel Splendido & Belmond Splendido Mare include 2 buildings, one set on a verdant hillside overlooking the yachts of Portofino Harbour, and the other right by the famous Piazzetta square. All rooms come with free Wi-Fi and a satellite flat-screen TV. Rooms located in the main building offer panoramic views of the sea or the garden. Those of the waterfront Belmond Splendido Mare annex offer views of the sea or the village. All guests have access to the facilities of Belmond Hotel Splendido, which include a free outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre with sauna, and a wellness centre. The 3 restaurants serve traditional Ligurian cuisine. An American buffet is served daily for breakfast, both at the Belmond Hotel Splendido and at the Belmond Splendido Mare annex. A private garage car park is located in the main square, and the concierge is available for parking and luggage transfer. A complimentary shuttle service connects both hotel buildings. Really overpriced. I don’t mind paying a premium but this place is ridiculous. It has nice views. But the restaurant is stupidly expensive and the service was only so so. We had to ask to order drinks several times. The food was great but not €200 per person good.

Our group of 20 took a shuttle up to the hotel for an olive oil tasting & lunch. I learned that extra virgin means first press of the olives. Lunch was delicious & there was plenty of wine to complement it. Service was great. Views are spectacular. I recommend you walk back down to the harbor as you will enjoy more great views.

Belmond Splendido Mare was an exceptional hotel. The location right in town couldn't have been more perfect. While the rooms were slightly smaller, they were very comfortable. The staff was very helpful, kind and enjoyable. If only I could go back for breakfast on the patio again! It was tremendous. We were not there long enough to enjoy the Belmond Hotel up on the mountain as much as we would have liked, but they did a great job of taking people back and forth on a regular basis. If you go to Portofino, I highly recommend the Belmond Splendido Mare.
