Hotel Capo La Gala - Amalfi

The hotel is wonderful! Each room has a balcony overlooking the sea, and it was amazing waking up to the sound of the waves each day. (Not if patio doors closed however. Good soundproofing)All the food was really tasty, and there is a great Michelin started restaurant attached. There’s also an indoor spa, a gym area that overlooks the sea and all the staff were wonderful. Though the main winner is the view! It’s so spectacular

Best hotel we have ever stayed in. Nothing to complain! Stunning location, great service, everything in great condition, friendly and caring staff. What else do you ? We loved our stay here and will definitely come back.

Not sure this is s good value place to go:1. Their staff are friendly in general but not very helpful all the time. We were there for a wedding so would like to have some shirts and dresses ironed, we were told we can’t have ironing in the room as “it’s against Italian law”. This is not the only hotel we stayed in Italy over so many years but this “law” is new... Maybe staff in this hotel is the law maker too.And, why didn’t this law maker stop hotels providing kettles? Wouldn’t hot water be dangerous too?2. The rooms are generally nice but:a. There’s always a horrible smell in the room... we had to keep the door at balcony opened to get fresh air in. Not sure what caused this smell.b. There is no fan or window in the toilet. So whatever smell from the toilet will stay in the room.c. The roof at the shower is leaking when shower water is on... not sure that suggests good quality in the construction.d. There’s a lift in the hotel but it’s very scary to take. When it reaches the top floor, there will be a horrible shake before the door opens... We had to worry about possible accident whenever we take this lift.
